Video to Web: Part 3 - POST PRODUCTION

Then you have post production: the editing and prepping of your recordings. Here is where the raw footage is assembled and cut into the proper places, music and voice-overs are laid in, and graphics and titles are placed. This is also when special effects and composites are pieced together.

There are several ways of “posting” your production. A less expensive way is with linear editing, which is deck-to-deck or reel-to-reel but is slow and cumbersome. Another way is non-linear, using a computer to digitize the image and assemble it together inside a computer. This method is much faster, however it is also much more expensive. Other large expenses are special effects and graphics that can vary dramatically depending on the project.
